in Australia by

New Australian MP Declares Immigration Briefings as a Top PriorityOn Monday, Kerryn Phelps has declared an independent Minister of Parliament upon her emergence as the winner of the just concluded by-election. The former Australian Medical Association president is already on fire as she’s made her intentions to request immediate briefings on Immigration. The powerful medical personnel who is the official winner of Went-worth said that she would immediately seek detailed briefings regarding immigration in the country. These briefings will include offshore processing, asylum seekers boat turn-backs and clearances of refugee security.

Speaking to Sky News on Monday, Dr. Phelps said that in many countries of the world, faster resolutions are continually being found for asylum claims as well as faster resettlement options when compared to Australia. She emphasized the need to look at the offshore processes with thoroughness to be able to see why it takes so long and there are still so many people with lack of resolution. When she takes her seat on the crossbench, Dr. Phelps top priorities include getting people who seek asylum as well as refugee children off Nauru and taking urgent actions on the issues surrounding climate change.

Solution to Immigration Issues:

Regional Immigration: A Top Priority For Australia

in Australia by

Regional Immigration: A Top Priority For AustraliaIn a recent conversation, the minister of Australia’s immigration, David Coleman stated that ‘getting migrants to struggling regional communities is his priority’. Though his plan to strengthen citizenship requirements have not been neglected, he is flagging a revamp of regional visas in response to the cry for migrants.

David said that he’s looking very closely at the various classes of regional visa. He is also assessing the effectiveness of all these programs as well as the means of improving them. According to him, many regions are seeking additional immigration at the moment in order to meet economic needs. Few regional gaps are observed in the employment of various regions.

Mr. Coleman was given the immigration portfolio, as well as the ministries of Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs, after its separation from the Ministry of Home of Affairs which is under the leadership of Mr. Peter Dutton. He acknowledged that immigration has been so fundamental to our success as a country. Our nation’s history is that of immigration because we’re all immigrants, apart from Indigenous Australians.

Stricter Citizenship requirements

Responding to stricter citizenship requirements like tougher English test, he said: “having English language in Australia is obviously a very desirable thing. People will be able to contribute more to progress the Australia’s through speaking in English”.

If you are looking to migrate to Australia, it is exciting times for you. Demand for migrants is higher. Stiffer regulations plan has not yet come to fruition as it was quashed by the Senate towards the end of last year.

Good Time for Australian Immigration As It is Growing Tremendously

in Australia by

Good Time for Australian Immigration As It is Growing TremendouslyLast year, immigration to Australia for skilled workers experienced a slowdown. The score required for obtaining an invitation to apply for the skilled visa moved up to 70 and above as a result of the reduction in the number of invitations made available. People got ITA (invitation to apply) for as low as 60 points before this time while during this time, people could lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) when they acquired 60 points but were very unlikely to receive ITA. Hence this resulted in longer waits and inevitably pursuance of other options. Giving room for the imminent inflow of New Zealand citizens was the reason ascribed to the reduction in ITA. Experts also cited some economic issues as other compelling reasons. Recently things have changed as increased migration has been observed.

What observed an increase in migration for Australia’s immigration?

Against the backdrop explained above, Australia’s immigration very much looks like it’s on the rise again. In fact, the figures observed are similar to the levels that were experienced during the latter end of the second mining boom of Australia earlier this decade. Three month annualized terms revealed a recent sharp rise in the rate of annual net overseas migration according to Macquarie Bank and ABS. ABS’s data has proven to be a leading indicator of less-timely statistics on migration even though permanent and long-term movements are not the best for statistics pertaining to migration. Demographic statistics for the second quarter of the year won’t be out until late December, but the figures and data by ABS and Macquarie Banks suffice as sufficient evidence to show that migrate to Australia is accelerating. Some experts attributed this rise in immigration to the improvement seeing in the Australian economy in the last ten to twelve months.

For everyone that waited for so long without getting ITA and was not able to pursue or get other alternatives, this might just be your time. Immigration to Australia is on the increase, now may the best time to move.

Australia Plans Transferring Refugees for Re-Settlement in New Zealand

in Australia by

New Zealand would settle asylum seekers being detained by Australia under a plan being granted by Prime Minister of Australia, Scott Morrison.

Australian PM is Helping Asylum Seekers to Settle in New Zealand

Morrison has reportedly lowered his hardline stand on the refugees who tried to come to Australia by ship and is counting Jacinda Ardern, New Zealand Prime Minister for long-standing proposal to re-settle 150 asylum seekers presently held in unspecified detention on the island nation of Nauru.

It marks a notable departure from Morrison’s former position on asylum seekers after he served as the principal architect of Operation Sovereign Borders (O.S.B), the government’s proposal to stop the maritime returns of asylum seekers to Australia, through his time as border protection minister.

However, New Zealand’s proposal could only be taken by the government if a “lifetime visa ban” was executed that would stop the asylum seekers from always getting an Australian visa, even if they needed to visit as a tourist.
Peter Dutton, home affairs minister, recommended in June that a single act of empathy could jeopardize the fulfillment of OSB.

The Australian Labor Party (A.L.P) Opposition and Greens have denied the visa ban, leaving the Australian government with an upward battle to move it into the parliament.

Scott Morrison has not demonstrated why these laws are needed for a resettlement agreement with New Zealand and the (ruling Liberal Party) have not given out to Labor party to give a promise of any such deal.
