3,350 Express Entry candidates were invited to apply for permanent residency on May 29's draw as Canada edges closer to the midway of its 2019 Invitation to Apply (ITA) target. The government of Canada is well on the right track in achieving its immigration goals for 2019 to 2021 as many of the indices are flying high. The Express Entry draw held yesterday with 3,350 candidates issued ITAs brings the total number of ITAs already issued in 2019 to 35,100, almost halfway through the target of 81,400 permanent residents set for 2019 by Ottawa. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score in the draw was 470, north of the lowest of 438 seen in the first quarter of the year. For candidates who scored the same minimum score, date, and time of submission were used for ranking. The tie-breaking rule applied was May 23, 2019, at 10:18:56 UTC. Candidates who received ITAs are required to complete and submit an application for permanent residency within a 60-day window. This is the first step towards becoming a permanent resident after receiving ITA.
